Overview

  • Duration:3 days 2 nights
  • Travelers:1 - 12 guests
  • Tour Type:Multi-Day Circuits
  • Language:English

Your journey begins with a private pickup from your hotel in Huaraz, heading toward the southern reaches of the Huascaran National Park. Upon arriving at the trailhead in the village of Olleros, you will meet your professional local team—guides, cooks, and the traditional llama arrieros—who will be your companions and protectors throughout this 3-day ancestral expedition. As we begin the trek, you will witness the raw beauty of the high-altitude tropics, moving through a landscape of ancient stone-paved trails and grazing llamas in a safe, expertly managed environment.

Walk alongside our certified guides, who share the ancestral stories of the "Sacred Caravan" and the individual history of the communities that have maintained this pre-Inca pilgrimage route for 3,000 years. Throughout the route, you will have the freedom to photograph the towering Nevado Uruashraju and immerse yourself in the landscape at your own pace, while our team monitors your well-being with professional safety protocols and O2 saturation checks, especially as we approach the 4,700m Yanashallash Pass.

As the sun begins to set, arrive at our exclusive campsites in the Sacracancha and Shongo valleys, where the magic of Andean hospitality truly shines. Instead of basic rations, you will enjoy nutritious, high-protein meals prepared by our mountain chefs, designed to fuel your recovery at high altitude. While our team handles the logistics and equipment, you can focus on the breathtaking views of the continental divide, sharing a hot coffee and stories with your fellow travelers and the local crew under a star-filled Andean sky.

On the final day, descend through the changing vegetation of the eastern slopes until reaching the mystical village of Chavín. After bidding farewell to your new local friends and the team that ensured your safety, enjoy a final traditional lunch before exploring the underground galleries of the Chavín de Huántar temple. Our private transport will then take you back to Huaraz. You return not just with memories of a 37km journey, but with the peace of mind that comes from a truly human and professional Andean experience.
